How to make the Samsung BD-P1600 DVD region free

Monday, March 29th, 2010

Hi all,

First of all, you will not void your warranty this will only make your Samsung BD-P1600 even more useable.

  1. Make sure you don’t have a disc in the player, as this will not work if you do.
  2. Press the POWER button on the remote to turn on the player.
  3. Wait until the player has booted up and the manufacturer logo is shown.
  4. Press OPEN/CLOSE twice so that the player opens and closes the tray.
  5. As soon as “NO-DISC” is displayed on the top left corner of the screen, press REPEAT and directly after that press the following 5 digit number
  6. 5 7 5 3 8 (Region 2)
  7. If it work the region code for the player wil be shown in the top left corner of the screen.
  8. Press “9″, to make the player region free.

Then you should be set. Turn off the player and turn it on again and try playing a DVD with another region than the base region for the player.

If it didn’t work just give it a few more tries.

DISCLAMER: I’m not responsible for any DVD/blu-ray players damaged in the process.

Trials HD

Thursday, March 4th, 2010

Xbox Live’s Summer of arcade hit big this year with games like Splosion Man and Shadow Complex  The game in question is Trials HD in my own opinion one of the most entertaining Xbox Live games ever released. I can some up the game with three words.

Fun, Frustrating and Challenging.

Your objective in this game is to ride your trial bike through a track and contains several obstacles that you have to complete with as few faults as possible. You will fly through the first track no problem, but after a while you wish had never bought the game in the first place (in a good way of course). Some of the tracks are so frustating that I had to turn off my Xbox and and leave it for a few minutes just to cool down. As of now I’ve completed all but 3 of 4 tracks in the expert difficulty but the completion far out into the future.

In the graphics department the game fares very welll for an arcade title and the controlsdo as well. It’s well worth the 1200 Microsoft points that it costs.

Jumper Griffin’s Story

Thursday, March 4th, 2010

Jumper: Griffin’s Story based on the 2008 movie by the name Jumper. Let me be clear, this is an aweful game. After about 20 minutes you will have around 350-450 achievement points and then it suddenly takes a hard turn and gets quite hard. The game is aweful in every aspect except the cartoon cut scenes those are very good. The controls are confusing and stiff, the grapfics are bad, the camera is all over the place and the sounds is terrible. The bottom line is, the only reason to play this game is to get the achivements nothing more.
